rants and rambles (part two)

 (my grandparents' house)

I have so many pictures on my computer I seriously don't know what to do with them all. (this is the reason I have been packing each post with about 100 pictures) I really do like my camera, and no, I don't normally call the camera "Cameron", like I was going to. Yes, it's sad -- maybe I just don't do too great with naming things.

To catch up with my last post like this, I don't know if I'm going to Uganda, still praying about it. If I did go, I'd be like the youngest in the group. That's not a problem for me, but we just need more details.

This week has been pretty busy, I've been trying to read this series in four days, today is my last day to finish it and I still have over 200 pages left. The book is very interesting and filled with bad words. (Yes, it is written by C.S. Lewis.) Okay, I take that back, it isn't filled with bad words, but let's just say it's not short on them...

Our close friends the Marcums have adopted another boy, more on that is coming soon! You don't know how amazing it is going to the airport and watching a family bring home a child from another country.

On Saturday we ran a 5k, and I beat my time by over two minutes, which was really exciting. My time was 23:09, and I got first place in my age group. This coming Saturday we're running another race, and this time the prize is 50 dollars for first in the women's, so I'm hoping I'll run well. I've only won first overall in women's once, and that was in a smaller race. So I'm really excited, but also a tad bit nervous. Also, I've found that short shorts aren't so bad while running. I run way faster with them on. They're just extremely...short.

Next week I'll be gone at my grandparents. They live in a little valley surrounded by mountains out in the middle of nowhere. They don't have internet at their house, so I won't be posting, but I might have a couple of friends post here. :) Email me with you blog link if you'd like to guest post.

That's really all I can think of now. I've thinking about making another video sometime in May, but I'm so overwhelmed with all the stuff I have to do that I think it can wait.

Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful Wednesday!

  2. You should SO come over to England and do some mission work! We need it badly! I'm doing a bunch of stuff at Church right now. I'm thinking about joining a Street prayer thing....you'd be surprised how badly Manchester needs missionaries. If you walk down the street, it 90% you'll run into somone speaking Urdu or Arabic. It's like you're actually in Africa. :P

  3. Just in case I don't tell you enough how amazingly beautiful your pictures are, they're GORGEOUS!

That would be great if you got to go to Uganda! I hope you can go! LOL, I went skiing with my older brothers and cousins, and a few other people in February, and I was the 'baby' in the group. ;)

You're going to a little valley surrounded by mountains out in the middle of nowhere... that's kinda where I live. Except the valley's pretty big. :D

  4. Wishing you luck on the race! I decided not to run, because running isn't the greatest for your knees, and they've given me trouble before... My older sister is starting today though! She's using the Couch to 5k program.

  6. Really? Nobody else has commented about the books yet?! It's a great series (well-- no, wait, i was about to correct myself, but it is a good series. it just isn't a good trilogy.) Ignore that sentence. The first book was my favorite, and the second was a fun read, as well. But I only got about half-way through the last and had to put it down. :/ Although, that probably says more about me than it does about the book, huh?
