Our friends the Akins brought their little boy, named Elijah (Eli), from China this week. They've been waiting for two years to bring him home and the Akins are good friends of ours, so we were all excited. I was nervous and eager enough to meet Eli when we went to the airport, and I can't imagine how excited the Akin children were!
Eli was so cheerful and happy, though it did take him a moment to warm up. Afterwards he was running around smiling and greeting everyone! It was such a great experience, and I'm really happy for the Akins. It makes me want to adopt a kid of my own. Of course, I think I'll have to save up for awhile if I want to do that. ;)
Do you know anyone who adopted any children? Does your family have adopted children, or are even you an adopted child?

That's so neat. Adoption is so special. And I can say that honestly because I was adopted. :)
ReplyDeleteI have ALWAYS wanted to adopt. Hurrah for the Akins!
ReplyDeleteWe have almost had 2 babies, but the birth mothers, (when they saw the precious little bundles from God) changed their minds. We also tried to adopt from Ethiopia, through a certain agency, but they changed it so you have to have 6 kids or less and we had 7 at the time.
Congratulations to the Akins again!
