I can't believe I just did this.

I finished National Novel Writing Month yesterday. I wrote over 50,000 words this month. I still can't believe I did it. I know I was going to at least try it this month, but then when I got to week three and more than 10 thousand words got deleted I almost told myself I couldn't do it. But I did, and may all the glory go to God.

The first week was easy, I wrote like the wind. The second was harder, I got tired in the morning since I had to get up early, but I never thought seriously about quitting. Week three was the hardest, since that's when the document decided to be nasty and delete my novel. Thankfully I had most of it backed up. Week four was mostly just catching up, and getting excited because I was almost through. It really was an amazing experience, and I know I'll be doing it next year, if the Lord wills. I had so much fun, it's going to be hard not to do it every month!

Did you do NaNoWriMo this month? Are you still doing it? If you are, keep it up! Hang in there.

Your perseverance has encouraged me greatly.
You gave great glory to God through your attitude and perseverance, and He helped you through this!
    Congratulations!

Is there a possible way I can read it?

  4. Good job! It's an awesome feeling to finish. :3

Although, I'm incredibly glad I've never been through the rite of passage that is losing my novel. I think I'd go into the depths of despair and never lift my head again. xD

  7. Congatulations, Kendra, on finishing up! I'm proud of you. I know that it is really hard to keep on writing, especially when you have a deadline and a certain ammount of words/characters etc.
I'm am trying to finish up a novel by Christmas (no, I'm not joined up with NaNoWriMo, but on my own). I don't know how many words.. just however many needed to get done. However, I'm having to write about 35 pages a day.. yikes.... ;)
thankfully I haven't had any trouble except for running out of ideas! haha!

Keep up the good work and can't wait to hear about it next year! :)

  8. Thank you all so much for your encouragement! A

nd no, I don't think I'm going to send the novel to anyone who wants to read it. :-/ First of all, it's a mess right now, it needs tons of grammar correction and certain parts added in, so it's not really readable. Second of all I'm thinking of perhaps trying to get it published one day, and I don't really want anyone stealing my writing. It's not that I don't trust any of you, but if I give it to one person, I'll have to give it to another and so on. I think I'm going to allow a few close online friends to read it when I'm done editing, but no one else. I'm so sorry, and I feel mean for saying so, but I just can't allow it.
