take a break

Life gets busy, too busy sometimes.

Whether you're working in the kitchen, studying for school, or trying to get your work done, we can all get more focused on getting things done than trying to enjoy them and really take the moments in.

Take a break, friends. Shove that algebra homework aside and pick up a Civil war book [or for those of you who think wars are boring, pick up a romance book or whatever you fancy].

Sit back and read, write, or snooze. Go for a long run and listen to "By Your Side". I went for a five mile run yesterday, and it was oh-so-good. Except then I had to advertise for three hours standing in the sun waving my sign, then we went to our friends' house, then shopping at the goodwill [ever tell you how much I dislike shopping for clothes? especially when it's confusing], then went to a soccer game. Yesterday was one of those "not take a break" days. And the day before that. And the day before that.

But, if you can, try to fit in a 'take a break' day. One of those days where you stick you feet in the pool and sing. Or the creek, in my case.

Spend some time with a friend, and just laugh for awhile.

Get outside and do a job with your little sister, teach her things in life you value or lessons you've learned.

take a break from the business people, and smile.

What makes you want to relax?

a very happy birthday

Somebody turns six today. Somebody is really sweet and awesome and crazy.

Somebody deserves some delicious cupcakes and sprinkles.

With a Cinderella princess lady on top of her cupcake.

Somebody deserves the best birthday ever. Wanna know why? Cause this girl is like the best sister ever.

Happy Birthday to the best little sister in the whole wide world! Let's leave a very large amount of comments for my dear lil' Petra, friends. I'm going to read every single comment on this post to her. What if she got 100 birthday wishes? That would make her day. Even if she only get one happy birthday wish, she'll still be the sweetest girl ever.

I love you Petra Summer, and have a very happy birthday!

moments like this

when your two-year-old brother is more interested in his chocolate pudding (no wonder) than getting his picture taken.

when you almost get a picture of your brother catching & throwing the frisbee.

when you take a million pictures of your younger sister and only one turns out good. (and the only reason it turns out good is because she thinks she's sooo funny)

And then when your sis takes a picture of you, you look nothing like yourself.

moments when you get a maps put up on the walls and you take pictures of certain places.

moments when your two year old brother (again) is more interested in tractors than getting his picture taken.

moments when your feet are always a little dirty.

Like the green nail polish? I like *never* paint my nails ever.

The un-perfect moment when your sister decides to pick the kitten up by neck. (bahaha! I know, I'm not a huge cat lover or nothin'.)

moments when you're hoarse for singing//screaming at pretend 'concerts' with your little sisters.

moments when Skyler maybe actually looks a bit . . . cute?

Or just moments when you want to just sit back and relax, like what I'm doing right now. I hope you're relaxed, sitting there on your desk computer or slumped on your bed on the laptop.

What are some of your favorite moments?

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalm 107:1

I am like soo excited. seriously.

Because . . . we (Samuel, Anna, Max & I) get to see Tenth Avenue North live in concert at the Kentucky State Fair on Monday! Did I mention it's my first concert? Yeah, you peoples are probably like, "Wow, she's never been to a concert? That's crazy." But that only makes me more excited. Tenth Avenue North is one of the best Christian bands in my mind, besides Third Day and Rush of Fools and Casting Crowns and MercyMe. And then I could go on and on about Chris Tomlin and TobyMac and Britt Nicole and Jamie Grace, well -- I think that's enough. I could write a whole blog post all about my favorite artists. I love newer Christian music, like not hymns . . . but I'm not really into rapping and too many drums. Like TobyMac is enough, and the Newsboys if I'm in the right mood. Anyway, I'm rambling on too much (I do that when I'm excited), so let me go back. Where was I? Oh yeah, Tenth Avenue North.

                                                                   *ahem*

Yeah, they look like any other regular band that stares at the camera and tries not to smile.

But, they're not. Really. See?

Look at the old lady in the background. Shows you what kind of band Tenth Avenue North is. I'm just gonna add a ton of pictures of them. By the way, I'm not like hacking into their cameras or anything. These pictures were on their website...

notice narnia

And yet no, I do not like them just because they are funny and they have crazy pictures on their website. I enjoy their muisc too, of course. I mean like, who couldn't?

Love is Here is my favorite of their songs right now.

Don't know if any of ya'll have heard of the "Grace Card", but they did a music video for that...

Well, I should probably be going to bed --- this post is much longer than I thought it was going to be. Sorry if I don't post too much, I really don't want to feel like I *have* to post or anything. Oh, and Tenth Avenue North has an online journal with some pretty good stuff on it. I'd recommend you'd go and check it out.

For now, it's bedtime for me. I'm busy with website designing when I do get on the computer, thus blogging has been put aside for the time being. Oh, and I like giveaways, but I'm not doing one with ten prizes again for a very long time. =P It was...a lot of work. I hope the winners do enjoy the prizes though. Honestly, do you gals think my posts are getting a bit boring? I mean, it just kinda seems like all my posts are too funny, or even corny. I've got so many good ideas, but then I start typing...and it just doesn't turn out like how I expect it. And I just don't have the time to take pictures or make a video of what I want. I guess my 'sense of humor' shows too much.

Anyway (how many times do I say that in a post? See how I get off topic?), it's bedtime for me. Farewell, friends!

What's your favorite band//artist? Do you have million (like me)? Or do you prefer to stick to more "old fashioned" music?
