what we do on a six-hour drive

We sleep. Then stay up and watch The Heat get beat at night. Hey, that rhymes.

We read. And get carsick.

We listen to music and dance try to dance around while we're listening.

After we get sick from reading books, we listen to them on audio.

We sometimes cry when things don't go our way or we get tired of sitting or we have to use the restroom or we're hungry.

We I write.

And we chew gum. Like seriously. We had so much gum. Great idea, Mom. I think all the McDonald's restroom floors in Tennessee probably have gum stuck under the sink. I don't know how many times I got it on my shoes.

What do you do on long drives?

  1. Haha! That's a lot of gum! I recently was on a 3 and 1/2 hour drive. I slept, and listened to audio tape. On the way back, I'm expecting to read. The whole way.

  2. "Get car sick", eh? I once stood on my head, read a book, and chewed gum while in a moving vehicle and STILL didn't get sick. LOL :P

Oh and on trips I read a TON... write a bit... watch a movie (portable DVD players that hook up to cigarette lighters are fabulous)... snack a ton... listen to music... daydream... ;)

  5. @Bekah Bekah, I think you're just very lucky. My sis can read in the car but me...no. Which is horrid. Because instead of staring out the window I could be reading. =P

  7. Well, the longest drive I think I have done was when we drove to San Diego, CA. I think that was.....well, more than eight hours, any way. I don't remember much except for getting car sick (super bad.. as in.. yeah). Other wise, I pack up my music to listen to, do some crocheting/knitting.. write in my book.. yeah. :) Sounds like y'all had quite the interesting trip.. and that was a LOT of gum! :)
