Writing Gala - day one

Megan has been hosting a "Writing Gala" over at her blog, and I decided to join, since I love writing so much.

For the first day you just answer the following questions. Sound fun?

How long have you been writing?
Since I've been  born. Okay, I take that back, but when I learned how to read I was writing poem & short stories. So I was probably like...six? Yeah, I was reading chapter books when I was six. So I could write.
When did you first realize how much you loved writing?
Whenever I first started! I also really enjoyed writing last fall, when I was sick for a few months.
What is your favorite thing about writing?
I really like creating characters, and just being able to say whatever you want to and write it down. Imagining new things and describing them is so fun!
Which do you like better, Planning or Rewriting?
Planning! I love thinking at night what my new story or next part is going to be about.
What do you consider your best work of writing?
Probably my newest story, which doesn't have a name yet. Other than that, probably, The Beginning.
What kind of writing do you feel the strongest in?
I love making up new worlds & fiction stories. But I love making characters live in parts of history too.
How many books have you started writing?
Oh wow...tons. I can't even name them all. I've probably only finished about 10 or more.
How many books are you working on right now?
One. I'm working on one with a friend soon though.
Have you ever taken a writing class? If so, what did you get the most out of it?
No, I haven't. I've read books about writing though.
If you could write as good as anyone in the world, who would you choose?
Wow...I don't know. I like writing who I am, if you know what I mean.

What have your family members told you about when you were little/what do you remember, and how might it apply to your writing life.
I'm the same as Megan, I've always made up games and lead my siblings into imaginary battles. All kinds of stuff can happen if I'm around leading the game...haha. Reading a lot also helps with being a better writer.

  1. Lovely answers Kendra! I was interesting learning more about your 'life of writing' :)

    Thanks for linking up!

  2. I love your latest story! Its awesome!! :D I was going to say something else, but I forget! RAL! Maybe if I scroll back up... I don't remember. Oh, well. I was thinking though, the third one seems to better fit the name "The Mission," than "The Mission" does. =P

  3. I like your new blog look! :) Actually, I like it a lot better than your old one. ;)

thanks for sharing your thoughts -- comments make my day!
