A Bike Ride

Today I was feeling up to going for a little bike-ride! Of course now I'm very tired, not complete better from being sick. But anyways, Anna and I went down the road some. This is part of the "garbage dump", where everybody just throws their waste away. Some people (like us) try to burn it, but there is still so much left. I guess that's part of living in a different country!

We rode all along the back roads, and we didn't really see anybody but two girls.

Then we went down the "sand dunes" by the salt lake, and took some pictures of each other.

I think Anna was acting like Anne of Green Gables . . .

She's good at being serious. And Anna is pretty, God has blessed her with nice eyes.

That isn't her real smile, just so you know. ;)

I really like the way this one turned out, the lighting is all natural, I didn't edit it at all except for the text on the bottom.

Then Anna shot some photos of me. I like action shots, not smiling or staring at the camera . . .

That is not a real smile from me, I think Anna was doing some to make me laugh and I was trying not to laugh.

I think I was doing a little dance/run thing here. :P

*whew* that was a lot of pictures. I figured out that if I cut down the size with Gimp, it made them load way faster.

Which picture is your favorite?

Tutorial, Tag, and Giveaway

Grace over at Grace's Garden Walk is hosting and "Old Fashioned Handmade Christmas" event! You are supposed to do your own tutorials on how to make something. Each week you have a different theme for your tutorials, and this week is paper! So I'm going to do a tutorial on how to customize plain notebook paper for writing letters to friends.

This didn't turn out very good, because although I took pictures, the internet is too slow to upload them, and the computer freezes.  *bangs the keyboard with her head* Sorry about that, I got mad. Well actually I didn't bang the keyboard, but you get the point, right?

Oops, I'm fading for the subject of this post. Dear me. That's something Susan from The Chronicles of Narnia would say. Did you know they have a new Narnia movie coming out?
AHHH! Sorry, I simply must stay on the subject!

Anyways, this tutorial is going to be terrible, because the pictures won't work, and I really needed the pictures. :P

This picture was from another old post, and so I copied it onto here, that's different than uploading it from the computer. It's a terrible picture too, it was from a long time ago and I took it in the dark because Nehemiah liked walking on the bed (which is where I took this picture) to the window, and he banged on the window when the light was on. . .  On with the tutorial.

Customizing Plain Notebook Paper~
You will need:

Notebook paper (of course)
pencils, markers, or pens (pencils work best)
stickers (optional)

This really isn't a tutorial where you have to do everything a certain way. Use your imagination! I like to do vines and swirls on the side of mine. You can see that a little in the picture. Make it pretty, but don't do too much! Remember, it's the letter your friends are reading, they aren't looking at your drawings! If you aren't very good at drawing this tutorial isn't really for you . . . if you have good penmanship (I don't) you could write quotes on the side. You can also use stickers, those are fun!

She's also giving away a book and some very nice note cards, make sure to go over and enter!

Here is the book she is giving away. I've heard good things about it, and of course I'd never pass up entering for a book. ;) Grace is shipping overseas by the way.

And these are the note cards she's giving, there are more too!

Another giveaway at:

Here is the tag/quiz thing you need to do with it. It looked fun, so even though I don't do these quiz things anymore on my blog, I did this one:

1. If you had to choose between living on a desert island or tropical rainforest for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
Tropical rainforest!
2. What is your favorite music CD right now?
I don't really have one . . .
3. If you were given the choice between wildflowers or roses - which would you pick?
4. How much do you like notebooks? Is it mild, or are you absolutely obsessed with them?
Uh, I'm not obsessed with them. I don't hate them, you have to use them.
5. What is your biggest goal this winter?
To become more like Jesus Christ. That will always be my #1 goal, because I'll never be perfectly like Him, but I always want to be getting closer to be like Jesus.
6. If you could change your hair however you wanted, what would you do?
I like the way God made my hair, it's fine and I don't really care much.
7. Do you think Harry Potter is bad?
I'm not allowed to read the books. My parents know best. :)
8. Why do you think pink is a girls' color?
Hmm . . . well it's always been a girls' color, you know? Even though I don't like pink. :P I'm weird, I know!
9. Would you be up to singing a solo in front of a thousand people?
It would be a little freaky, but I could do it if I was singing about Jesus.
10. What colors look best on you?
I don't remember. Ask my Mom.
11. If you had a different name, what would it be?
Probably Kendal, or Johnny. Joking! Samuel and Solomon Busch call me Kenny though. uh huh. I don't know why.
12. Do you like...
boots or sneakers?
Sneakers! Boots are fun if you're in the snow though. OR in the mud. Actually that's more fun barefoot.
flats or heels?
What are flats? I'm not into the latest fashions.
books or movies?
purple or pink?
 long hair or short hair?
Long Hair
a best friend or a group of friends?
A group of friends
ice cream or cake?
ice cream!
plaid or polka dots?
Either is fine!

Sorry for the lame post.  I think I kind of acted weird at first because I'm nervous because I might have to have another colonscopy surgery thing. I do not want somebody going in and putting a camera in my stomach again. That wasn't fun at all, and it hurt bad. But I suppose if God wants it to happen He will. BUT prayers would still be appreciated. ;)

I think that's all . . . what have you been reading in your Bible lately? It's always fun to see what others are reading. I'm studying 1 Samuel and 1 John.

Anna wants to use the computer now, even if it is my own I'm still nice enough to let her use mine.  *proud grin* (joking, joking)

Trees & Writing

As you have probably already seen from my pictures, there really aren't any trees (only in Mrs. Michelle's garden, and there are fig groves) here in Egypt. Well, Samuel dug some holes so we could plant some fruit trees. Mom got some pictures, but sadly our internet is too slow to upload anything. So you'll have to be content with me saying that the holes really aren't worth seeing. :P

I've also been doing my writing for school, and I have to get 600 words for a story thing about arguing. Here is an example of my writing (I highlighted the mistakes):

Martha pouted again but she went in to the kitchen and went up to Ma ma.  “Ma ma? Jenna is bein’ mean she is not being nice. She is ignoring me. Pwease can you read to me?”

Ma ma smiled sweetly and explained, “Jenna is working on her school. That is probably why she could not read to you. I am very sorry but I can not read to you either. I am working in the kitchen. Martha, you have school to do all so. Like math, and spelling, and logic, and grammar, and writing, and reading, and history, and Bible, and there are so many thing that I myself can not name them all.  Do you under stand? Is this clear to you sweet sugar baby dolly?”

Martha threw up her hands, “No it is not clear. I do not know what you are talking a bout. Will you please say it again? “

Ma ma sighed,  “Jenna is working on her school. That is probably why she could not read to you. I am very sorry but I can not read to you either. I am working in the kitchen. Martha you have school to do all so. Like math, and spelling, and logic, and grammar, and writing, and reading, and history, and Bible, and there are so many thing that I myself can not name them all.  Do you under stand? Is this clear to you sweet sugar baby dolly?”

*cough* Yeah. I doubt Mom will let that pass, what about you?

Love in Christ,

Two Great Blogs!

Howdy there!  Wow, I just got ten followers! Thanks guys!

Anyways, here are two girls new to blogging, and really like for ya'll to go over and visit them! There IS a button on their blog that says 'follow'. *hint, hint*

Blog #1: Daughter of the Righteous King (by Erin Elisabeth)
Blog #2: One of Ten . . . and Loving It! (by Hannah Ours)

I usually don't 'advertise' but these girls have been really nice to me, and made me laugh when I'm feeling down. Thanks!

One picture for your enjoyment:

That's Petra and I doing a photoshoot for Mrs. Marlow.

I really should go to bed!
In Christ,

I know, it's a little late to be posting about Thanksgiving, but I didn't have the pictures uploaded on the computer yet yesterday.

We went over to E-mad and Michelle's house, they are the ones that own our home. Mr. E-mad speaks English, but he's Egyptian.  And Mrs. Michelle is from America. They have three children in their twenties, and for Thanksgiving they had some of their friends come over. Anyways, the ladies cooked up some great food, and we had a good time giving thanks to God for all the wonderful things He's given us. :) Here are a few ton of pictures.

Anna got Nehemiah all slicked up.  He looks way older here.

I got some pictures while we drove . . .

You can see the lake in this one!

There are no cars on the road! Well it's not that busy, but there aren't speed limits in Egypt.  Some people go really fast . . . like 100 MPH.

Mrs. Michelle (her last name is really hard, so we call her by her first name) had a lovely garden, and they had green grass! Yeah, not a big deal to you probably, but in Egypt?!

God's handiwork is amazing!

There were tons of flowers and plants in their garden. . . .

I've never seen anything like this plant.

I haven't seen anything like this one either.  But it shows God's marvelous creation!

I think this might be my favorite picture I took, I like how it's blurry in the background but focused on the flower.

Another queer looking flower.

I think this is the funniest plant of all! I wish I knew what it was called.

Then I went over with the boys, who were playing ping-pong. Max is laughing about something probably not worth laughing about.

It was nice of him to pose for me when I asked him to.

Haha! I can't help but laugh at this one! I put it on my desktop, and when I close the internet it makes me jump!

Max has interesting eyes . . . (in a good way, of course)

Nehemiah sticking his tiny finger in the camera lens. I tell him not to do that, but he doesn't get it.

He finally backed off. *whew*

He is awfully cute.

Heidi and the dog, Jenny.

One smiley young lady!

Henry likes for me to take pictures of him, then he begs; "Can I see it? Please?  I wanna see it Kendra!"

Jenny the dog. It's too bad we don't have a dog. But I suppose eight children is enough for my parents.

I got on the ground for this one.  I know, I'm weird.

God is so gracious to allow us to leave in the peaceful 'part' of Egypt, and by the beach too!

I like the light coming threw the door on this one. Okay, you guys are probably getting bored of all this pictures. So, ONE more, okay?

Then we ate some yummy food, and helped clean up. (Well I felt bad so I slept) Sorry I didn't get any pictures of the food.

Then we watched a movie, prayed, and went home.
We had a good time! How was your Thanksgiving?

PS: Some people have been wondering if I've been feeling better. I have to say no. The medicine killed some of the worms, but not all and the pain is coming back. Dad just left for a trip this morning, and won't be back for ten days, so we probably won't be able to go to the doctor. Prayers would be appreciated!
